Rural Support Trust Northland is proud to bring farmers and growers The Lean Farm Project - Workshop: Introduction to Lean Thinking on Farm.

What is Lean?
Lean management is a proven management approach originating in the automotive industry that has been used by thousands of businesses globally for decades. It helps to improve business processes and achieve bottom line results by focusing on value add and eliminating waste. Lean is fundamentally a culture of continuous improvement, and it helps to create a highly engaged and empowered team. So why is lean relevant to farming? Farming is a business. It also consists of many processes, materials, resources, equipment, and of course people. Farms are the perfect environment to apply lean tools and continuously improve the way we do things to help us work smarter not harder, achieve the right results and create sustainable businesses. Many farms across the world are now starting to use lean thinking to help them navigate some of the challenges of the industry and create better, more productive businesses.
